There’s no accident that can’t be fixed
There is no slip of the tongue, travel in time machines
And erase all the mean things
Conveyor belts that carry us, from our births until we’re dust
The galaxy at your finger’s tip
Communicate in broken bits
Teknology, it’s gonna be easy
Analog analogies, simply get lost at sea
The moment that is your life, married online to binary wives
And I don’t mean to alarm you, but missles falling from the blue
No need to worry, those bombs are smart
They’ll never blow us apart

Last night was brutal. Sometimes when recording in Logic it wants to fight with you, slap you around and see how much you’ll take. Awesome. I was trying to patch up Triggerfinger. I’m not even sure if I succeeded, but I’m sure about the aggravation for sure. I don’t love you, Pro Tools, but you’re less abusive than Logic.
Polishing off some notes I had for Made To Break from yesterday, and then I’ll try and do some vocals for Stepping Stones perhaps. Talk about revisiting that thing. That’s the track I started with.
I had planned on tracking some vocals but the weather is getting worse, so I’ll wait. In the meantime, I listened to the newly burned CD in the car and made more notes. Notes, notes, notes; this is how it goes. Some of the tracks are getting close to me not hating them. :O
Tired. Just finished tweaking Made To Break. I’ve had a chance to step back from this one, so I definitely hear it needs fine tuning. It’s tighter after tonight at least. Burning CD then quitting for the night.
Four hours later I’m done nudging Anchor around. My wrist needs a small break. Onto Made To Break in a bit. I suspect that will take just as long, maybe longer.
Today my goal is to get the notes done for Made To Break and Anchor. Depending on how involved it gets and how long it takes, I may try to track some vocals tonight. If not tonight, then tomorrow.
There’s still a ton of work to be done, but I’m getting it down to really only needing to track vocals for two tracks. I’m pretty much scrapping the vocals I’ve done for them. I think I can do better. Oh, and re-tracking the chorus vocals on Triggerfinger. Anything else I’m forgetting? Probably. At least there’s an end in sight.
Another full day. From Devil to Triggerfinger, I think I’m spent. I just got done tinkering with Triggerfinger. Earlier today I was questioning dropping it off the EP, but I’ve decided to try and salvage it – then decide. I now want to re-sing the chorus vocals I did years ago. Go figure. There are a few slightly off notes, and it’s easier to just redo them rather than patching. It’ll take a whole afternoon, I’m sure. I’m not excited about doing it, but it’s definitely worth a try. There’s some good stuff in this song if I can lift some of the weaker elements a bit more.
Today I worked Devil Through The Walls off the list, and I’m headed to Triggerfinger. Right now I have a total of eight tracks to put on the EP, which I hope to release by the end of July.
So I just got done working for many hours on For What It’s Worth. My wrist hurts. That took longer than I thought, but worth it. I replaced a three-part vocal harmony section that’s always bugged me in the original version. It’ll be good to truly finish off this song I’ve had hanging around for years.
If the pace continues as such, then I may be looking to have the test CD burned around Monday or Tuesday. The wind is out of my sails for the moment. Mixing wine and friends tonight.
